Chameleon Challenge - The Block NZ

Central Heating New Zealand invites you and your school to take part in a “Chameleon Challenge”. The competition coincides with Central Heating New Zealand’s sponsored body-painting challenge that aired on Three’s The Block NZ on 24th July.

Central Heating New Zealand is asking school children of all ages to submit photos of themselves, their friends or their teachers adapting to an environment and blending in to the background. Don’t worry, it doesn’t have to be body painting, it can be simply wearing clothes that are the same colour as their background.

Central Heating believe the competition can be used to teach children about animal adaptations. For example:

  • Why does a zebra have stripes?
  • Why does a giraffe have a long neck?
  • Why does a camel have a hump?
  • Why does a chameleon change colour?

Additionally, teachers will be able to discuss managing and adapting to change in a fun and friendly way that may be beneficial to students preparing for intermediate school, camp and/or other life events.

The student who submits the winning photograph will win 3 Chrome Books for their classroom worth $1200. The school that wins the Chameleon Challenge will receive an Espresso coffee machine for its staffroom which has a value of $2400.

The Challenge commences 25 July 2017 and concludes Friday, 25 August 2017 unless terminated earlier or extended by Central Heating New Zealand in its absolute discretion.

To submit an entry form students must have the consent from a parent or legal guardian. The parent or legal guardian must agree to the terms and conditions of entry and ensure that the child complies with the competition rules. Central Heating New Zealand reserves the right to request a signed consent from for all participants at any stage during the competition. Once the consent form has been received by the school, the child will be eligible to enter the competition.

By completing the consent form (“entry form”) and submitting their photograph via the school, the child may participate in the challenge and have the opportunity to publish and or publicise their photo to win their school prizes. By submitting an entry form the parent or legal guardian is agreeing to the terms of the entry form and the competition rules on behalf of the child creating a legally binding agreement between the parent/legal guardian and Central Heating New Zealand.
