Central Heating New Zealand Ltd is the largest specialist central heating company in the country and are experts in whole house heating. We offer the complete solution by specifying, designing and distributing central heating systems and components throughout the North and South Islands.

We supply our products and designs to a network of qualified installers throughout New Zealand. Only those products with an international track record of performance and reliability, such as DeLonghi radiators and Baxi gas boilers, are offered. We have an extensive product range, including gas, diesel and wood pellet boilers, radiators and underfloor heating, as well as geothermal / ground source heat pumps and hot water heat pumps. Most products are available nationwide through merchants such as Plumbing World, Mico, Mastertrade and Edward Gibbon. We offer a complete design service, building energy analysis and in-depth pre- and after-sales support.

 To significantly influence the central heating market and to grow the industry as a whole, Central Heating New Zealand has an installing division in Canterbury and a franchise in Wellington. This enables us to trial new innovations and to offer specialist advice on products as they are integrated into central heating systems. New products, configurations and installation methods are tested in house – so the very latest international innovations can be offered to you once their suitability for New Zealand conditions has been verified. In conjunction with GeoEnergy Systems, we have recently introduced geothermal/ground source heat pumps which use the earth's natural energy to heat and cool domestic and commercial buildings. Air to water heat pumps and high specification wood pellet boilers are other recent additions to our product line up. These systems have remarkable efficiency when used for central heating systems.

A Brief History

After living in the UK, the directors, Lyall Smith & Lewis Smith, saw a need in the New Zealand market for a European approach to heating homes; heating the entire house so you can live in absolute warmth & comfort. Most New Zealand houses aren't heated adequately for the climate we live in.

Central Heating New Zealand has grown steadily since forming in 2001. The company is currently experiencing major growth due to the demand for world class comfort and alternative heating options that are more effective and efficient than traditional kiwi heating. Central Heating New Zealand employs 20 staff at the Head Office based in Christchurch, and has plans to expand even further this year. The company focuses on quality and integrity and aims to lift the professionalism of the central heating industry as a whole, whilst raising the standard of heating in kiwi homes.

Wellington Franchise
The Central Heating New Zealand franchise in Wellington services the lower North Island region. The experienced team is led by James Cuddihy (pictured right). The franchise's motto is to "go the extra mile " and the team is regularly rewarded with extremely satisfied customers.

Gas central heating is extremely popular in the Wellington region because most homeowners have access to a reticulated gas network. A gas central heating system run on natural gas (as compared to LPG) can be very cost effective. Many established homes in Wellington have had a gas radiator central heating system installed. Radiators are superb at heating up quickly and they are the best option for retro-fit installations.
