Born and raised in Oxford, UK, Gary has had central heating running through his veins from the very beginning. With a deep-rooted passion for the industry, he established, ran, and owned his own heating and gas business, gaining invaluable experience working on a wide range of systems. But after years of building his career in the UK, he made the bold move to New Zealand. Settling in Hawke’s Bay 20 years ago, he worked as a certified gas installer before eventually managing and owning a fire business in Napier.
Now, after decades in the field, Gary is ready to step away from the tools and into a role that allows him to bridge the gap between sales and installers. With years of practical know-how behind him, he understands the challenges and intricacies of the heating industry inside and out. His ability to connect with installers is second nature—he knows what they need, how they work, and how to support them in delivering the best results. His goal is to make their jobs easier while ensuring customers receive top-tier heating solutions.
When he’s not immersed in all things heating, Gary is likely chasing a ball—literally. A lifelong sports enthusiast, he spent years playing rugby before transitioning to football. These days, he enjoys a round of golf or a game of tennis, anything that keeps him active and on the move. But when the day winds down, you’ll find him unwinding with an adventure or mystery series, always up for a gripping story that keeps him on the edge of his seat.
Although his children have grown up and left home, they haven’t gone far. Living in the same region, they remain close-knit, spending plenty of quality time together as a family. At home, Gary and his wife, Wendy, still have a full house—thanks to their three energetic dogs, their beloved fur babies. These “mad hatters” bring endless joy (and chaos) to their home, sharing Gary’s love for chasing a ball and keeping life entertaining.
