PE-RT Pipe Benefits

Central Heating New Zealand is a leading supplier of underfloor pipe in New Zealand and has been supplying our European-manufactured Multitubo PE-RT (Polyethylene - Raised Temperature) underfloor pipe since 2013. We hold a large stock of PE-RT pipe in our Christchurch distribution centre, and to date, we have supplied over 3.5 million metres of PE-RT pipe to various residential and commercial projects around New Zealand. 45,000m of this has been supplied for Parakiore (Metro Sports Facility), New Zealand’s largest aquatic/indoor recreation and leisure venue in the heart of Christchurch’s CBD.  Parakiore is due to open to the public in 2023 where people will be able to enjoy the safety and warmth that underfloor heating around the pools (supplied via our Multitubo PE-RT pipe) will provide.

PE-RT pipe is strong, yet highly flexible and can be easily bent without any tools. Some of our experienced trade customers have commented that it’s the easiest pipe they have ever installed, saving them time on underfloor installations. Multitubo PE-RT pipe is BRANZ appraised (appraisal #916) and has a lifetime in excess of 50 years. For underfloor pipe embedded in a concrete slab, we offer a 25-year warranty.

Our PE-RT pipe is 100% recyclable which makes it the green solution when selecting an underfloor pipe for your next project. We have recently gone through the process of ensuring our pipe is suitable in accordance with the Living Building Challenge, and we are happy to confirm that it does not contain any of the Red Listed materials.

Alternative to other pipes on the market, our PE-RT pipe has an embedded EVOH oxygen tight layer, (to DIN 4726/29) which ensures that when the pipe is getting laid, minor damage to the pipe via scuffing against the mesh or similar won’t impact the physical properties of the underfloor pipe. This ensures it will remain fit for purpose well after it has been laid and the concrete has been poured.

When the unavoidable does happen, and PE-RT underfloor pipe is damaged during construction, there is no cause for concern as with the use of mechanical compression fittings, our pipe can be repaired to ensure it remains suitable for years to come.
