Central Heating New Zealand has been at the forefront of developing central heating providing the building industry with a wealth of expertise in product selection, system design and installation.  The company sources more than 1,000 hydronic-related products from Europe, America and Japan.

About the role

As the Business Development Executive, you will seek new business and manage existing accounts in the commercial, trade and retail channels.  You will achieve budgets, build turnover, create relationships and loyalty through providing superior customer service.

Key customers will come from the following industries:

  • Commercial: Specifiers | Mechanical Engineers | Architects
  • Trade: Installers | Merchants | Developers | Builders
  • Retail: Property owners

Skills and experience

A previous background in warm-water central heating or the plumbing trade is an advantage, but more important is the ability to efficiently deliver consistent sales activities and think outside the box in identifying and closing new sales opportunities.

The ideal candidate will need to have strong disciplines around planning with a proactive approach, be able to demonstrate good presentation & communication skills and have a preference for working as part of a sales team that goes the extra mile in delivering solutions to their customers.

Central Heating New Zealand have been at the forefront of developing central heating for NZ. They bring a wealth of expertise in product selection, system design and installation; with a focus on what works best for New Zealanders and their homes. The warm water (or “hydronic”) central heating products, including gas & diesel boilers, heat pumps, radiators and underfloor heating, come straight from Europe and the USA, where they’ve been perfecting warm water central heating for decades. The market across NZ is still maturing and so further scope for growth & development exists.

Reporting to the National Sales Manager, this is an integral role that works closely with the sales team to leverage their time and ability in developing new business opportunities, while they also build their referral networks and relationships within the trade/merchant sales channels. The core focus for the technical sales support role is completion of stock and special order product specification and quotes using design and quotation heatloss calculation tools, then working with the operations team to ensure that the product is available on time and the job progresses as planned. As such this role will also work closely with the end-user/customer and will also work to build and maintain relationships in those trade/merchant sales channels.

The preferred candidate will ideally have experience in a warm water central heating company, a technical sales support role or a similar heating aircon, mechanical company. This person must have excellent customer service skills, and who can multi-task while also thinking about the best outcome for the customer.  The ideal candidate will then need to be self-motivated with a confident and proactive approach, be able to demonstrate good document/visual presentation and communication skills,and prefer working as part of a team that always goes the extra mile in delivering solutions to their customers.
